Small groups locate and write a quote from Elif Shafak

"Role of Literature" -- op ed essay assignment
  - receive assignment and organizer
  - begin working on draft of essay
  - check that students have notes organized and in notebook (10 non-academic points for having in class)
 - look at example op eds about reading and literature

HOMEWORK:
 - Have a rough draft in class to begin the editing and revision process (15 non-academic points for having  your rough draft in class to work on)
 - Final op ed essay is due 9/21 (A) and 9/22 (B) -- include notes, organizer, and draft
